I went to Damers First School Poundbury Dorset

Just before christmas I packed up some of my bears and bear parts and met with 90, year one children, this was the first time I had been invited to do a Teddy bear talk about their history, repairs, restoration and recycling. The children were amazed to meet my eighty year old bald Chiltern. And to meet Ronnie a Newark fake bear. Also we looked at some pictures of a dog attack and then I passed round the bear all repaired, this really surprised them just to show that he could still be fixed.

We went onto look at different furs ,felts and the importance of The British Toy makers Guild to make sure that all products are used so the bears are safe for children and adults. At the end we all had a go with the music boxes, squeakers and growlers that are found in side some bears. We ended with some questions but all the children really wanted was to tell me was about their bears, it was a wonderful inspiring morning thankyou to all the lovely teachers and students off Damers school you were amazing.
