Charlie bears and the moths!
Before christmas eight Charlie bears arrived they were part of a big collection, the lady that owns them is called Lisa and she was devastated that they had been attacked by moths. Any one with mohair, felt or wool bears will understand the upset and damage caused by these little flying creature’s, they start by making tiny holes then they get inside and eat the back off the mohair so it is no longer attached and this creates the bald patches! As they eat they lay their eggs, and you then find the larva cases like grains of rice hidden in the fur along with little black dots, that’s their poo.
You can get moth killer strips and sprays, PLEASE don’t spray your bear though just pop a strip next to them or a Cedar ball and change every six months, do spray the room. Also check your bears regularly for any signs, give them a regular brushing and keep in a clean dust free environment as much as you possibly can. This beautiful bear had pin holes on his feet, I managed to repair them with out it showing by sliding a really thin beading needle in at the side, going to the hole doing one stitch and back out at the side. All eight bears went home with all 11 holes and two bald patches repaired and Lisa was extremely happy and glad to be taking them home which was a four and half hour journey!!
The really are lovely bears, those pesky moths!!!

Webahead are my designers they look after the technical side and do it very well no problems so far even when I wiped out all pics in the gallery they put them back so they must have backup on our sites.
